And people say that video games aren’t art.
and people say that video games rot your brain
God bless you for adding Metro

what you fail to realize is that video games shouldn’t cater to females in the first place. It’s largely known that it’s targeted towards the MALE demographic and has been for so many years, so why would they ask for something like that to be handed to them on a goddamn silver platter?
that’s like a guy walking into the women’s department of clothing at a sears and demanding that there be more clothing for men there. Separation of sections be damned.
that’s not how it fucking works
no not really
the game industry is more like walking into a regular department store and seeing that all the clothes are only men’s clothes
and when you ask the cashier where the women’s clothing section is, they wheel out a small rack of cheaply made tutus, g-strings, and high heels all in bright pink
I mean hell you even sort of like men’s clothes and you have no problem wearing them. They suit you well. But it’s very obvious once you throw on a pair of men’s pants that they were not made for you.
^^^
Perfect metaphor is perfect.
Video games should cater to women because they are half the population and that is called EXPANDING YOUR DEMOGRAPHIC. More video games that can be enjoyed by women (and non-dudebro men, which combined is significantly higher than just the dudebros themselves), means more sales, means more monies.
The sexism is actually HURTING THE INDUSTRY. But you don’t care because you just want it to pander to you indefinitely because you think you’re soooo important.
Cis* is not correct Trans*gender isn’t correct either. Same with trans*woman trans*man (because they’re specific identities).
I see cis allies fuck this up at least 3-4 times a day. Stop it, you’re making yourself look bad with the people you claim to care about (not…
Oh yes, the thing that makes you look bad is whether or not you know when to properly put an asterisk somewhere because the community you’re trying to be an ally to is never terribly consistent with their terminology.
I’m transgender and even I’m not sure which one I’m supposed to be using.
I got it. You know who they should have cast as Daario? Omar Borkan Al Gala. He’s sexy, he has a beard, he’s from the United Arab Emirates… Everyone’s problems solved.
Sleep Paralysis is a phenomenon in which people, either falling asleep or waking up, temporarily experience the inability to move. Scientifically its the transition state between wakefulness and rest characterized by complete muscle atonia (muscle weakness).
I’ve known several people who have had sleep paralysis, who have even made characters who share the same trait. I’ve never suffered from it myself but I find the folklore around it fascinating, because no matter what nation of origin it always has to do with the visitation of a demon or vengeful spirit who either sits on, restrains, or strangles said victim. And so I drew my own little depiction of it, complete with a demon girl puking black stuff on a guy.
I dunno, sue me.
Fun Fact Of the Day #1 the myth of the succubus and incubus came out of the hallucinations people have when they experience sleep paralysis
Fun Fact Of The Day #2 this dude’s art is so fucking rad
I thought this was Homestuck for a moment. And I have experienced this a few times in my life. Kinda creepy.
I used to have this all the time. Haven’t had it in awhile though. It would freak me out like nothing else, because it’s the only real nightmare I had since elementary school, was being held down by some unseen force while in my bed.
Yes, finally! We went through all of last season and most of this season without one, but now things have gone back to how they should be - Emilia Clarke is doing nude scenes again.
It’s okay that I enjoyed every frame of this, right? It’s okay for me to say “unf” when looking at Emilia Clarke? Because it’s really hard not to.
nhf Whitey-o Na-White-is.
Fuck this show and IF MY MARTELLS ARE WHITE IM FUCKING DONE WITH HBO PROFESSIONALLY
Just you wait, BROWN Ben Plumm is gonna be played by a white guy.
Daario Naharis by ~Autumn-Sacura
Posting this one again, because people should not forget how he looked like in books ^__^
yes, i’ve read the books
but nowhere does it say that Daario is not white. (correct me if i’m wrong) but people often have this assumption that a great deal of the people of essos are persons of color. while this is true, such detail is often touched on and who knows maybe there are white Tyroshi people.
so yeah…nowhere does it says that Daario isn’t white. and i do not think HBO is whitewashing.
and of course knowing HBO, they werent going to do the blue hair. D&D have done this thing where they’re keeping the fantasy and supernatural elements on GoT but also are making it ‘realistic’ (example being how Dany doesnt have purple eyes and how Mel doesnt have red eyes and red ass hair.)
and even the change in his attire doesnt bother me because his clothing in the books seemed impractical anyway. i like how they gave him the traditional Mercenary feel and I’m okay with that.
all that i hope remains in tact is his swag and characterization in regards to his personality.
Well, his hair not being blue is the least of the concerns in regards to the mangling of his character design. They could have kept the beard and general “i’m an eccentric priate” feel of his character, but eh.
I dunno where the “whitewashing” thing is coming from, or why I’m seeing so much of it here… I mean yeah, the people of Essos are all people of color because it’s the middle east/asia/africa of the setting, but the Free Cities have people of all ethnicities mixed in, the Second Sons are a multi-ethnic mercenary company, and yeah… he could have been played by an actor of any ethnicity really, so I don’t know how that is white-washing.
And not only do you cast Daario as white, but you redesign his entire aesthetic to make him look more like a viking than the culture based around the Middle East and Central Asia that he comes from.
Well, he’s from one of the Free Cities, which are all pretty culturally mixed. I can’t recall if his skin color was every described in the books.
But there still need to be more PoC in general all around Essos.
Though whitewashing in GoT always makes me wonder if they’ll find a really tan white guy to play Brown Ben Plumm.
